A quick, honest fit check

This week works best when you want attention, repetition, and a relaxed base.

You will probably enjoy it if…

  • You are learning, returning after a break, or starting to catch green waves.
  • You want the same coach to notice patterns across several days.
  • You prefer a small shared week to a large party camp.
  • You are happy to let the tide and waves decide the morning beach.

Another trip may suit you better if…

  • You want nightlife to be the centre of the week.
  • You need a guaranteed private room without checking availability first.
  • You are an advanced surfer looking only for independent guiding on powerful point waves.
  • You need a fixed surf time that cannot move with the tide.

Who runs your week

Jamal · Lead surf coach

On our camp weeks the people are the product: you book knowing who is coaching, not a rotating roster from a bigger brand.

Jamal has been a surf instructor in Taghazout Bay since 2014. Calm, multilingual, and highly experienced at matching surf guidance to the level and confidence of each guest in the group.

“On a clean 1m morning with glass on the bay, I often start beginners at Panoramas — the sandbar can keep the takeoff zone more open. We still re-check depth, current, crowd, and shorebreak before anyone paddles out.”

The villa is nice, clean and friendly with a great terrace and rooms.
Jamal's coaching was super helpful and took both my brother and I from white water to the line up in only 5 sessions. Couldn't be happier.

“I only stayed for 2 nights but loved every second of it. The place is wonderful, still smells like fresh cut wood, very clean, smartly designed space, with kindest host and the most delicious fresh cooked food if you'd like to eat there.
Would recommend 100% :)”

“Jamal is an amazing host and makes you feel welcome from the very first moment. The surf house has a really cool, relaxed atmosphere and is located very close to the beach.
You can go surfing with Jamal, and for me an extra bonus is that you can also train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu together. Perfect place if you love surfing, martial arts and good vibes.
Jamal is friendly, helpful and genuinely passionate about what he does.
I can honestly say he is the best! Highly recommended. I will definitely come back”

Seven-day progression

What you can expect across the week

Days 1–2 · Foundations

Ocean safety, board control, standing up in broken waves, and learning which waves to take near shore.

Days 3–4 · Direction

Choosing left or right, riding smoothly along the wave, and starting simple turns with coach feedback.

Days 5–7 · Greener faces

When the sea allows, we help you catch your first unbroken waves without pushing you into water that feels too much.

Safety and travel cover

A named local coach, a beach check, and a clear plan

We take ocean safety seriously so you can focus on learning. The beach, board, group, and session length are chosen around the people and waves we have that day.

Know who is coaching you

We name the coach before you book. You can ask to see the available training and safety records before payment; a public outside verification link is not available yet.

Before anyone enters the water

We watch several sets, point out the safe area, currents, rocks, and the way back to shore, then change beach or plan when the conditions do not suit the group.

If something goes wrong

A first-aid kit travels with the group. The team knows how to contact local help and reach medical care in Agadir.

Bring travel insurance that covers surfing

Every guest needs personal travel insurance that includes surfing. We check the policy details when you arrive so you know what medical and activity cover you have.

Why not just pick any camp

We plan for clear coaching, not crowded groups

You know the coach-to-guest ratio before you arrive, the beach is chosen for the day’s waves, and each session builds on the last. We would rather shorten a session than push you into busy water that does not match your level.

  • A clear beach briefing on the tide, waves, safe area, and way back to shore
  • Video-style feedback on select sessions when it helps timing and posture
  • A board sized to you so learning feels stable rather than frustrating

Beginner reassurance

If the waves grow, we move to a gentler sandy beach. If you tire, we finish earlier. The goal is useful practice, not exhausted arms.

Already riding some green waves? Tell us before arrival so drills target technique instead of basics.

Location & logistics

Taghazout Bay, Morocco — three bases, one bay

We operate from three bases along Taghazout Bay — Anza, Tamraght and Taghazout village. Most Surf & Stay weeks are based at the Tamraght lodge, and we can arrange stays in Taghazout village or Anza to match your preference. Each day we surf Anza, Tamraght, Taghazout, Banana Point, La Source, Panoramas, or other breaks around Agadir — picked around tide, wind, swell, and your level.

Fly into Agadir (AGA) and you are roughly 40–50 minutes from the lodge; we can arrange a meet-and-greet transfer as an add-on when you send your flight numbers.

Accommodation

Choose double, twin, or dormitory rooms in the lodge, a short walk or drive from the morning meeting point. Meals and lodgings are booked as part of the week — see the package options below for exactly what each includes.

Decision table

Our week vs a hostel package vs a solo trip

The difference is not only price. It is how much feedback, equipment help, and local beach knowledge you get across seven days.

Day-by-day coaching arc

Seven days of practice that builds on itself

On arrival: level check, equipment sizing, and a simple look at the waves expected for your first session.

  1. Day 1: safety, board control, and standing up smoothly at the gentlest suitable beach.
  2. Day 2: catching broken waves at the right moment so you stop rushing the stand-up.
  3. Day 3: first line-choice decisions: left, right, or skip the wave.
  4. Day 4: trim drills on mellow shoulders when the forecast allows.
  5. Day 5: controlled green-wave attempts with feedback between sets.
  6. Day 6: repetition on your weakest movement, not random wave chasing.
  7. Day 7: final session, take-home notes, and a realistic next-step plan.

What does the entry Surf & Stay price include?

The Surf & Stay week includes 7 nights of accommodation near the ocean, daily breakfast and four traditional dinners, a two-hour coached surf session every day, board and wetsuit, transport to the best spot of the day, and daily video-style feedback.

How do Surf & Stay, Surf Guiding, and Private Week differ?

Surf & Stay combines coaching, accommodation, selected meals, equipment, and surf transport for beginners and improvers. Surf Guiding is for independent surfers who need local spot selection and transport. Private Week reserves the coaching setup for your own group and is quoted around your dates.

What is your refund policy?

Refund and change rules depend on your booking channel and dates. Tell us your week in advance and we outline the policy in writing before payment.
