Taghazout Bay · stay in Tamraght · surf across the bay

A Taghazout surf camp where you wake up and follow the best waves.

Our Taghazout surf camp is based in quieter Tamraght, a few minutes south of Taghazout village. Your week includes seven nights, daily coaching, board, wetsuit, and rides to the day’s beach, with no more than 5 surfers per coach. Prices start from €360 per person.

You sleep in one place. The morning waves decide where you surf.

Why the bay

More breaks, shorter drives, fewer trade-offs

Taghazout Bay concentrates the widest mix of Moroccan surf within a short drive: beginner sand breaks like Panoramas and Banana Point, mellow training zones at La Source, and famous right-hand points north of the village. When the swell shifts, the spot shifts with it — not a 90-minute car journey.

Agadir-Al Massira airport is about 40 minutes away, which is why most well-known Morocco surf camps cluster in this one practical area.

A real week in the bay

You see more than one beach—and you do not spend the whole week in a van.

The coast is compact enough to change plans when the wind or tide changes. These photographs are from our own guests, coach, and lodge.

The week

What a Taghazout week looks like

  1. Arrival: level check, equipment sizing, and a simple look at the waves expected first.
  2. Days 1–2: safety, board control, pop-up mechanics on sand-bottom breaks.
  3. Days 3–4: choosing left or right, riding smoothly, and starting simple turns.
  4. Days 5–7: controlled green-wave attempts and take-home notes.

Every day the coach picks the spot from the bay based on tide, wind and swell — never a fixed timetable.

Taghazout vs the rest of Morocco

Why visitors base here for a week

Taghazout is a village built around surf tourism — cafés, guesthouses and a relaxed rhythm — while the breaks within the bay cover every level. It is also the practical base: the airport is close and spot selection happens on the day, not days ahead.

Full schedule, packages and the decision table comparing our week to hostel packages and DIY trips live on the main surf camp page.

Choose the right base

Tamraght, Taghazout village, or Anza?

We can arrange accommodation at any of the three bases along Taghazout Bay — Tamraght, Taghazout village, or Anza — and the one you pick shapes your week more than most guests expect. “Taghazout surf camp” describes the wider Taghazout Bay surf area: the daily break can be north or south of the village because tide, wind, swell, and guest level determine the safest useful session.

Taghazout camp questions

Surf camp Taghazout — common questions

Tap a question — same wording we confirm by email before you book.

Where exactly is the Taghazout surf camp based?

We have two bases: Grip Sea Morocco in Anza and our village base in Tamraght, north of Agadir. Your base and room are confirmed with your written quote. Each day the coach picks the spot from the breaks within the bay and around Agadir — Taghazout, Tamraght, Anza, Banana Point, La Source, Panoramas — depending on tide, wind, and swell.

What makes a Taghazout Bay camp different from elsewhere in Morocco?

The bay concentrates beginner sand breaks, mellow training zones and famous right points within a short drive, with Agadir airport close by. Most well-known Morocco surf camps cluster here for exactly that reason — the widest mix of waves and the simplest logistics in one area.

Does staying in Taghazout village mean I can walk to every session?

No. Taghazout Bay is a moving surf area, not one fixed beach. The safest useful break can be north or south of the village depending on swell, tide, wind, crowd, and level, so daily surf transport remains part of the camp even for guests staying in Taghazout village.

Can I choose Anza or Tamraght as my base?

Yes, subject to room availability and the written quote. Our two bases are Grip Sea Morocco in Anza and our village base in Tamraght. Taghazout is a nearby place to explore, not a third camp base.

How is the daily Taghazout surf spot chosen?

The coach reads swell height, period and direction alongside tide, wind, access, crowd, and the demonstrated level of the group. A famous break is never selected just for its name; the useful choice is the break that offers a manageable learning objective that day.
